What You Need To Know About Golf

By Don Frickerson

Mastering the game of golf is far different from what many a people understand it to be, as they spend hours playing Nintendo's Wii Sports. Mastering the game of golf in real life is sometimes very complex and will require that you pay close attention to the exact rules and form. Though the decision to pick up the game from an skilled player is a viable idea, but there are plenty of mistakes, which novices usually make. The idea is to learn how to avoid such mistakes, so that you not only can play well but also have the feeling of having had a great experience of golfing.

The biggest error made by novices learning to play golf is they have a habit of looking up while they are attempting to hit the ball. This is bad as it is counted as a stroke and adds up to the score, even when you have not actually hit the ball, and it is easy to imagine what damage it does to your final scoring. Hence remember to look down while hitting the ball and make sure that you remain looking downward till the action is finished, with hips properly rotated. Ensuring that you keep your arms extended in full while you are swinging has been known to help umpteen golf beginner. One trick to do this right is to count till five after you have hit the ball, as this can help you looking up too early and with your pace too.

beginners learning to play the game of golf also miss the many a putts. To be able to stop making this repeated error is to focus on the top of the ball while standing on the putting position. Unless you look straight down on the ball, chances are that you would miss the proper hit and ball would deflect on its course and move elsewhere. The goal of putting the ball right and getting it into the hole cannot be accomplished unless you develop the ability to look down straight at the ball.

Novices learning to play the game of golf usually have a problem hitting the ball straight, as the ball tends to veer somewhere else. Though this may seem to be puzzling for novices but with a bit of patience, you can actually overcome the trouble. The first thing you always need to keep in mind is your stance so if you are not standing appropriately before you even swing the club, you are not going to have a successful stroke. Remember to carefully study your stance before you learn even to swing. If you notice your club isn't squarely touching the ball then you may need to back up a bit to make sure that you are not hitting the ball from the side of the club. This is one of the biggest things that will throw a ball to one side of the green or another so ensuring you have a solid, square swing will help your ball go to the preferred location with a bit of practice.

Hooking is one of the last major flaws that strikes at most novices but this is something that can be quite tough to correct even so. umpteen players cannot master the right position which make the ball hook or some players grips the club improperly, which cause the ball to veer off. Regardless of your trouble, taking a close look at your position, as well as ensuring that you are not gripping the club too tightly should be quite helpful in correcting a hooked ball. Of course, once you have started making adjustments to your posture or even your grip, you need to practice a bit to improve your skills.
