Daniel Boone: An okay action venture detailing a chapter in the life of the legendary pioneer and his leading of some settlers west from North Carolina into Kentucky. O'Brien is well cast in the title role Cast includes George O'Brien, Heather Angel, John Carradine, Ralph Forbes, and Clarence Muse. (75 minutes, 1936)

AI Artificial Intelligence: In the near future, scientist Hurt and his team create a highly advanced android child who might experience feelings, containing love. His adoption by a nice couple who have lost a child is riddled with complications. This enthralling tale draws us in, thanks in part to Osment's magnificent performance. Cast includes Haley Joel Osment, Jude Law, Frances O'Connor, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Robards, William Hurt, Jake Thomas, Ken Leung, Michael Mantell, and Adrian Grenier. (145 minutes, 2001)

Rally Round the Flag, Boys: A disheartening film of Max Shulman's novel in regards to a small city in uproar over a new missile base in their neighborhood. Cast includes Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Joan Collins, Jack Carson, Dwayne Hickman, Tuesday Weld, and Gale Gordon. (89 minutes, 1958)

Mr. Ricco: Martin in an eccentric role as a lawbreaking lawyer engaged with racist killings, sex and various brutalities, although he looks too exhausted to care. The film has an excellent puzzling angle to the plot. Cast includes Dean Martin, Eugene Rocbe, Thalmus Rasulala, Geraldine Brooks, Denise Nicholas, Cindy Williams, and Philip Michael Thomas. (98 minutes, 1975)

A Guy Named Joe: Excellent cast flounders in this lazy fantasy film in reference to WW2 guide Tracy returning from the heavens to give youthful serviceman Johnson a hand in his romance with Tracy's former lady friend Dunne. Cast includes Spencer Tracy, Irene Dunne, Van Johnson, Ward Bond, James Gleason, Lionel Barrymore, Barry Nelson, Esther Williams, and Don Defoe. (120 minutes, 1943)

Alexander's Ragtime Band: A cheesy however amusing musical chronicling the virtuoso and romantic ups and downs of hot-headed aristocrat bandleader Power, fine gentleman and pianist composer Ameche, and hard but vulnerable singer Faye (in one of her best acting jobs). Cast includes Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Don Ameche, Ethel Merman, Jack Haley, Jean Hersholt, Helen Westley, Jand ohn Carradine. (105 minutes, 1938)

Iron Maze: Japanese industrialist Murakami, wishing to construct an entertainment park in a Pennsylvania steel town, is viciously attacked. His American spouse (Fonda) and a laid-off steelworker (Fahey) offer variant conceptions of occurrences leading up to the episode. Cast includes Jeff Fahey, Bridget Fonda, Hiraaki Murakami, J. T. Walsh, Gabriel Damon, and John Randolph. (102 minutes, 1991)

Blink: Did she or didn't she see a murderer leaving the scene of the crime? That's the main query while gorgeous and strong willed musician Stowe, who is blind. Tale depends on viewer's acceptance of screenwriter's gimmick of "retroactive vision," a post-surgery reaction. Best thing in film is Stowe; alternatively this strolls onto the too recognizable blind-female-in-danger region. Cast includes Madeleine Stowe, Aidan Quinn, Laurie Metcalf, James Remar, Peter Friedman, Bruce A. young, Matt Roth, and Paul Dillon. (105 minutes, 1994)

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore: The movie tells the story of a lady's odyssey to find out who she is and her effort to find some measure of cheerfulness after her spouse dies, leaving her and a youthful child penniless. Cast includes Ellen Burstyn, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Green Bush, Alfred Lutter, Diane Ladd, Jodie Foster, Harvey Keitel, Vic Tayback, and Valerie Curtin. (113 minutes, 1974)
