A Bullet for the General: Blond gringo joins marauding guerrillas and shares to gory bloodletting. Not poor for the genre. Cast includes Maria Volonte, Lou Castel, Klaus Kinski, and Martine Beswick. (115 minutes, 1967)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit: This is an animated mystery movie. Roger Rabbit has been framed for murder. Washed up, alcoholic detective Eddie Valiant, is trying to clear Roger's name.

Bring It On: This is a battle of the cheerleaders. Last years championship team faces tough competition from a new hip-hop style team from the inner city. The high school drama plays out with the new head cheerleader having to deal with the ill will that has developed between the two teams.

Act One: This is an interpretation of the autobiography of writer Moss Hart. The whole thing comes across as quite unrealistic. Star listed are George Hamilton, Jason Robards, George Segal, Eli Wallach, and Jack Klugman. (1963 biography directed by Dore Schary)

Dances With Wolves: Lt. Dunbar wants to experience the last frontier. People are moving west and there is little of it left. So he takes a remote post, way out by himself, near Indian country. He eventually meets the local Indians, and forms an incredible relationship with his new friends.

Sentimental Journey: Maudlin yam of dying actress O'Hara adopting little gal to give spouse Payne a friend while she is gone; no keeps barred here. Movie was redone as 'The Present of Love' and for a 1984 Television film. Cast includes John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix, Cedric Hardwicke, Glenn Langan, Mischa Auer, and Connie Marshall. (94 minutes, 1946)

The Foxes of Harrow: Lavish however lumbering story of philanderer splitting up his matrimony to seek wealth and popularity in New Orleans in 1820. Cast includes Rex Harrison, Maureen O'Hara, Richard Haydn, Champ McLaglen, Vanessa Brown, Patricia Medina, and Gene Lockhart. (117 minutes, 1947)

Dante's Peak: Formulaic yet amusing catastrophe film where we see a scientist from the U.S. Geological Study who hangs around a mountainside town in Washington just beside a volcano that he feels is going to blow at some second. Cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton, Jamie Renee Smith, Jeremy Foley, Elizabeth Hoffman, and Charles Hallahan. (108 minutes, 1997)

Rollerball: Incredible -looking although disheartening tirade of the 21st century; Caan is the victor at a vicious game in a civilization where bloodshed ha~ been outlawed. Filmed in Munich and London and adjusted by William Harrison from his tale Roller Ball Kills, this movie rocks. Cast includes James Caan, John Houseman, Maud Adams, John Beck, Moses Gunn, and Ralph Richardson. (122 minutes, 1975)
