Movie was redone as "The Present of Love" and for a 1984 Television film. Cast includes John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix, Cedric Hardwicke, Glenn Langan, Mischa Auer, and Connie Marshall. Happy Gilmore: Hockey player Happy Gilmore finds his slap shot power translates into 400 yard plus drives in golf. Needing money to help his grandma save her house, he is going to try pro golf. His putting is as bad as his driving is good, so he has a lot to learn. Overcoming all odds, Happy wins the tour championship and now can save grandma's house.

Black Mask: Biologically machinated warrior Li gives up a peaceful life to battle his comparably improved former colleagues, who are trying to take over the Hong Kong rackets. Clever, fashionable, lightning paced thriller is a superlative showcase for the illuminating abilities of Li who, in his camouflage, looks like the Green Hornet's Kato. Guitarists can give some pretty good advice every now and then, but you know when something they tell you for guitar improvement sounds a little screwy. You might actually be wondering how having your eyes closed when you're trying to maneuver across an instrument with over twenty frets with six strings can be beneficial!

Actually, learning to play with your eyes closed will give you a much better understanding of your own playing habits, help you to better recognize parts of the guitar, and develop your ability to learn by ear. Check out these 6 reasons how playing with your eyes closed can push more improvement into your skills.

1. Improving your chord knowledge isn't as stressful. Moving between chords as a beginning guitarist might not be the smoothest thing to accomplish, but practicing with your eyes closed can help you address what you actually feel. When you really want to absorb the formations of those chords, remove your sight and you'll find your muscle memory starting to kick in.

2. You can increase your understanding of the fret board. Flying all over the fret board can be overwhelming when you're having a hard time keeping up, but learning to identify the frets without seeing them would probably help you out. Try doing some difficult runs that take you across a few frets without your eyes and see if it helps to recognize the subtle distances on the guitar neck.

3. You'll learn to not over-look your mistakes. If you don't learn to right your mistakes you might not make as much improvement as you were hoping on the guitar. By shutting your eyes when you play, you'll hear those minor mistakes loud and clear and get more motivation to turn them into correct phrases.

5. You can learn the stylistic features of the song more intently. Being able to play songs is very important, but being able to interpret them from the vantage point of the composer makes a real musician. Learning to improve through the work in your fingers will train you to listen for the subtle nuances that give the songs certain emotions and depth.

6. Song tempos will stand out more. Playing out of tempo is a problem that is becoming pretty intolerable as a musician and will lessen your chances of being used for a band. If you rely on your fingers and ears as opposed to your eyes you'll find that adjusting to the song's natural speed is a bit easier.

Learning to connect better with your instrument in any fashion that you find reliable is a good thing. The next time that you have a guitar practice, see if you can improve upon your skills by taking your eyes away from the fret board and relying on your ears and fingers.

First Time at Camp

When my son turned 10 I knew summer should be more than trips to the park and television. And so I entered the world of SUMMER CAMP.

Today he is 15, and has gone to Swift Nature Camp for years and we are going to send him back again and again. Despite his ADHD and trouble at school, he loves it loves camp.

The counselors and directors at SNC have a great, hands-on approach to leadership, social skills development and confidence-building.

Jeff and Lonnie, along with enthusiastic counselors, provide an atmosphere that encourages positive life skills to be developed. My son has greater peer understanding and empathy, better self-confidence and trust, his leadership skills increased, an understanding of group dynamics and fair process and many other valuable relational skills.

As a parent I was nervous sending him to a place I had not been, but it was worth it! After talking to Jeff and Lonnie *the Directors) over the phone before I decided the Discovery Camp was best . A special program for the First Time Going to Camp

They we eager to listen to any question I had and their understanding made the decision easy. My son rode the bus to camp, but I picked him up at the end. That way I could see first-hand all of the wonderful activities he got to do.

His excitement for Swift was limitless. I'm not sure if he took a breath between stories on the whole 8 hour journey home!

The website of Swift Nature Camp says everything need. To me, I love how the camp is set up. The cabins are by gender and age and do activities together, including laundry and cabin clean up.

In the afternoons the campers can choose a variety of typical camp activities (arts & crafts, archery, swimming, horses and much more).

As an Environmental Camp, Swift Nature Camp is dedicated to awareness and nature preservation. The nature center has microscopes and a zoo. Campers can even bring their own pets from home. All nature programs are hands on and fun.

Of course there is plenty of laughter, games, campfires, food, sports, fun, drama, singing, etc. that makes overnight (residential) camp an experience one remembers for their entire life.

I appreciate that this camp is a general camp and not a "sports camp" or "math camp" or something else ultra specific. At Swift Kids get to be kids and experience all sorts of different activities with a diverse set of campers and counselors. So much more is learned than at a specialized camp.

My son has learned so much from SNC. We have noticed a big difference in his attitude, manners and abilities. He is more mature, pleasant and competent. These experiences and social education are worth any price.

As parents, we joke tit is easy to find math, reading, or science tutors but know one tutors in social skills. We were wrong! We found exactly what my son needed at exactly the right time in his life.

Should you be thinking about overnight summer camp for your kid, consider Swift. I think it is so successful because it is a non-competitive, confidence-building camp where kids get to be kids. I know it is the best thing we ever did for our son.

MMA Flashback: Bobby Lashley Destroys Mike Cook At MFC 21

Heres a word of advice to future opponents of Bobby Lashley"dont make fun of his background in professional wrestling. Mike Cook found that out the hard way in the co-main event of the Maximum Fighting Championships MFC 21: Hard Knocks event. After spending the run up to fight week making fun of Lashleys tenure in the WWE, Cook lasted a mere :24 seconds before being choked unconscious.

Perhaps Cook felt he was creating some sort of self doubt in the former WWE superstar by suggesting that he was out of his element in a real fight, but he turned it up a notch at the weigh in and in his ring entrance by donning a Mexican Lucha Libre mask. That clearly incensed the massive 64 250 pound Lashley, who despite his inexperience in MMA is hardly the sort of individual prone to losing bowel control at the prospect of a fight.

A smirking Cook attempted to tap gloves with Lashley before the fight, but his obviously insulted opponent would have none of it. Even after the opening bell rang, Cooks arrogant approach to the fight continued as he immediately clinched with his opponent as if he had no regard whatsoever for Lashleys strength. Lashley immediately locked in a guillotine choke and basically yanked Cook down to the mat by his head. Cook didnt even get the chance to tap out as veteran referee Big John McCarthy recognized he was out cold and pulled Lashley off of him.

After the fight Lashley gave his opponent a hug and flashed his trademark megawatt smile as if to say I told you so. In his postfight interview, however, he did slip in a final verbal jab toward his vanquished opponent saying that he didnt come to play and that he is all business before quipping that now Cook can go put the mask back on and have fun with himself'.

Despite the fact that mixed martial arts and professional wrestling have been interwoven from the beginning, the American Top Team trained Lashley has been singled out by less knowledgeable fans for his tenure in the WWE. Against his next opponent, Bob Sapp, hell be facing a foe that has also spent some time in the worked environment of professional wrestling. In addition to his legit fighting experience in K-1 and PRIDE, Sapp has worked for several Japanese pro wrestling organizations and briefly held the prestigious IWGP Championship. The IWGP title has been held by pro wrestling legends such as Keiji The Great Muta Mutoh, Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami, as well as reigning UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Even though Sapps days as a serious fighter are long past and he likely spends less time in the gym during a given year than Lashley does in a month, he does present an element of danger. Hes still got decent punching power, and his sheer bulk will be a challenge for Lashley who could give up as much as 100 pounds come fight night. Still, Sapps only victories in several years have been against overmatched and/or outsized opponents. In his last fight against an opponent of similar stature he was destroyed in under a minute by Jan Nortje who entered the matchup with a 1-6 career MMA record. Sapp remains a hugely popular personality in Japan, however, and simply by fighting him Lashleys marketability in the lucrative Japanese fight sport market increases significantly.

Packers Send Rams To 13th Straight Defeat

Now that the Detroit Lions have ended their losing streak, the St. Louis Rams are officially the worst team in the NFL. The Rams extended their losing streak"now the NFLs longest"to 13 games on Sunday with a 36-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers on their home field at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. The Packers Aaron Rodgers threw for 269 and two touchdowns and rushed for a third as Green Bay pulled away in the second half. The victory snapped a five game road losing streak for Green Bay and improved their 2009 NFL regular season record to 2-1.

Green Bay easily covered as a 6 road favorite, in the process earning their second pointspread cover in three NFL regular season games this year. The Rams dropped to 1-2 against the spread. The 53 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 42. The Rams have only covered 12 of their last 36 lined games.

Rogers had been sacked a league high ten times in his first two games, but only went down twice in the victory over the Rams. Afterwards, he praised his offensive line for giving him the time he needed to complete passes downfield:

"They really gave me some time. I was able to move in the pocket."

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo blamed the loss on the lack of big plays generated by his defense:

"It's the big plays on defense that kill you and the turnovers -- we didn't get any takeaways."

Packers coach Mike McCarthy, meanwhile, praised the big play ability of his offense in earning the victory:

"Big plays equal points in this league. We say it every week. It was evident today. We have the ability to play that way."

Green Bay quarterback Rodgers continued to explain the teams big play ability, suggesting that much of it stemmed from the Rams man to man coverage of Greg Jennings and Donald Driver:

"If they are in press coverage on Driver and Jennings, we're going to take our shots. I was able to put the ball in the spot."

The Rams will look to end their ending streak next weekend, but wont receive any help from the schedule maker as they travel cross country to play the improving San Francisco 49ers. Theyll return home the following Sunday to play the Minnesota Vikings before taking to the road again, traveling to Florida to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Green Bay will head to Minnesota for a Monday Night game against the Vikings next week. Theyll then enjoy a bye week before hosting the Detroit Lions on October 18th.

Baseball is America's sport. It brings out the boys of summer. While baseball has seen its ups and downs, it has never left us. It is part of the American family, like a brother that sometimes is the hero, sometimes the villain, sometimes a prince, sometimes annoying but never ever turned away. Our children embrace baseball instruction and baseball hitting drills. We are devoted. Throughout During baseballs short history there have been plenty of notable events. Here is a short summary of a few of those moments brought to you by the people at the plate.

In 1876, on February 2nd eight teams became the first members of the National Baseball league. The first National League game took place on April 1st, 1876. Boston played Philadelphia and triumphed. In 1900, on February 2nd the American league was born. It was comprised of of six teams. These teams were Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Chicago. On April 18th of 1923 Babe Ruth hits his first home run That hit was the first homerun in Yankee Stadium. Eight years later in 1931 on a muggy August day Babe Ruth hits his 600th homerun.

On May 15th, 1941 the amazing hitting streak of Joe DiMaggio starts. He would hit in 56 consecutive outings. In September of that same year Ted Williams would finish the season with a batting average of .406, making him the only batter to ever hit over .400 for a season. In 1961 Roger Maris sends 61 balls over the fence establishing a "most home runs in a season" record that others would chase. Mark McGwire hits 62 during the '98 season. Sammy Sosa hits his 61st and 62nd home run five days later in September. Barry Bonds will break the record with 73 home runs in 2001.

April 8th 1974, Hank Aaron smacks the ball out of the park and hits his 715th home run, overcoming the Bambinos record and moving into the front position on the list of career homeruns. Aaron will hit before he steps away from the plate in 1976. A year latter, Sadaharu Oh sends a ball out of the park in Japan. Sadaharu Oh has claimed his 756th homerun. Mr. October, Reggie Jackson comes to the plate 3 times on October 8th, 1977 and hits three home runs. He hits them on three consecutive pitches and leads the Yankees to their 21st world series championship.

On September 11th 1985, Mr. Hustle, Pete Rose hits his 4,192 hit besting Ty Cobb. Four year later he would be banned from baseball for gambling on baseball games while he was a manager. He finished his career with 4,256 hits. These are all players that knew how to take a pitch. There are many other famous players that were brilliant at the plate and great in the grass. Shoeless Joe Jackson, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Duke Snider, Roberto Clemente and many more electrified baseball with their talent and charm. While the 50's and 60'a may have been the golden years of baseball, it is still dear to America's heart. Basketball, football and NASCAR has pulled fans away, but nothing can touch these great moments in baseball history.
